Registration for the 2014 cycle is now closed. No additional registrations are being accepted. Please do not submit any information or further requests. Information about the 2015 cycle will be available at a later date.
If you have registered for classes beginning January 2014, detailed information about class schedules and locations can be found in the 2014 Student Handbook. You may also contact us via Email (email@example.com).
The Military Academy looks forward to helping our soldiers gain the leadership skills and success needed for both civilian and military life.
The 2014 training cycle will be one of transition for the S.C. State Guard (SCSG) Military Academy. All course materials are being reviewed to ensure relevance with the SCSG Mission Essential Task List (METL) and State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) support requirements. Additionally, a major effort is underway to coordinate the Academy and unit-level training curricula so that they complement and support each other.
There will also be a new venue for all classes in 2014; the S.C. National Guard McCrady Training Center located on Leesburg Road, approximately 20 miles from Columbia. The state-of-the-art facilities at McCrady coupled with the opportunity to train with the National Guard and other elements of the armed forces will take our training to a new level.
The ultimate objective is to ensure that all S.C. State Guardsmen are prepared to meet the increased tempo and complexity of our broad mission; providing qualified “boots on the ground” to support missions for up to 48 hours in times of need. The Academy’s professional staff, many of whom have prior U.S. military or State Guard leadership experience, will share their knowledge and skills to prepare Guard members for the future.
We recognize that every attending student’s participation at the Academy represents a significant commitment of time and effort. In turn, we will ensure that every student leaves the Academy both well-prepared and having had an enriching and rewarding training experience.
