Mission
At the direction
of the Adjutant General, develop and maintain
organized resourced elements of the South
Carolina Military Department to support
administratively, logistically, and
environmentally, all military operations as
required. At the direction of the Governor,
through SC EPD, SAD, and the SC State Guard,
deliver a fully capable level of preparedness
and response to protect the lives and property
of the people of South Carolina during times of
emergency.

SCSG Launches the New
Email and Communications System
The New Email System has been completed and is
ready to roll-out. Every State Guardsman now has an 'sg.sc.gov'
email address. SCSG now has a uniform method for electronically
communicating both internally and externally, right down to the Unit
level. There are many new features provided with this system
including: Integration with popular email clients and PDA
integration with Windows Mobile, Blackberry and iPhone.
Additionally, users are able to create and share calendars and
collaborate on documents in formats like MS Word, Excel, and
Acrobat.

account and for setting up your personal computer and/or PDA. Please
read and follow the instructions before contacting the webmaster.

Tax Exemption
Available for State Guardsmen
State Guardsmen are entitled to a $3,000 State Tax Exemption
provided that, at least, 192 hours of service have been performed.
Additionally, mileage is deductible on both Federal and State
filings. Forms for documenting time and mileage are available and
must be approved through the proper chain of command.
